This Season of Giving: Donate to Toys for Tots & Fayette Samaritans!
This holiday season, Rosa Gynecology has partnered with Toys for Tots and Fayette Samaritans to support local families with toys and canned goods.
Toys for Tots, a program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.
Fayette Samaritans is a Christian ministry serving families in Fayette County in critical need of food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance.
Rosa Gynecology, a leading area practice for 40 years, is now offering state-of-the-art 3D mammography at its Peachtree City location. The arrival of the technology brings a new level of access and convenience to area residents while coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
When detecting breast cancer, the 3D mammogram offers advantages over traditional mammograms, and it’s especially superior for women with dense breasts. The advanced technology and 3D imaging allow radiologists the ability to see beyond areas of density.
“We’re so grateful new and existing patients have the opportunity to experience 3D mammograms at Rosa Gynecology,” says Dr. Mironda D. Williams, managing partner of Rosa Gynecology. “By offering the latest technology, along with high-quality care that exceeds our industry standard, we’re able to open the doors of access to more patients, especially women of color and others who have been traditionally underdiagnosed.”
Rosa Gynecology’s latest technological addition is located in its Sherrie Yaeger Blaha Imaging Suite, honoring the practice manager who fought a courageous battle with cancer. The 3D mammogram system enables the practice to be a convenient, one-stop-shop where women can take advantage of 3D mammography and annual exams at the same location, often during the same visit. This removes the need to travel to another imaging center. As a result, patients can get everything done with their trusted gynecologists, while having their 3D mammograms read and evaluated by board- certified radiologists.
“We’re a team of women taking care of women and can relate to the needs and challenges of our patients,” says Dr. Williams. “Time for self-care and preventative healthcare can be limited, especially for those ages 40 and older with multiple responsibilities. That’s why we’ll continue to invest in technology that both enhances the patient experience and helps promote successful outcomes.”
